The Amazon Music Personalization and AI Innovation team’s vision is to offer Amazon customers delightfully personalized audio experiences by building world class customer and language understanding, content recommendations and experience optimization platforms. As a team, we play multiple roles at Amazon Music - one, we develop sophisticated models, scaled platforms, and flexible capabilities, offer them to internal teams, and experiment with them across experiences to improve the quality. We are seeking an experienced Principal Technical Product Manager to drive the product roadmap and strategy for the foundations team. The Foundations team is focusing on providing key platform offerings that allow Amazon Music to scale its algorithms and systems to billions of events while providing the highest possible quality for customers.
Key job responsibilities
As a Principal Technical Product Manager for Foundations team based in Berlin, you will help our team define and execute a strategy for becoming the world's most personalized audio streaming service. This role will be focused on leading strategy across two core teams: the first is focused on the underlying infrastructure and capabilities teams use to incubate, experiment, and scale; the second is focused on developing quality assessment approaches that allow teams to understand what is working in customer experiences and why. You will work with scientists, engineers, program managers, and a variety of cross functional partners to understand their needs, define a clear vision and strategy, make prioritization decisions, invest in the next generation of models and features, and deploy them across experiences to improve personalization. As the most senior product leader in Berlin, you’ll aid in the development and growth of the product team and overall office.
A day in the life
You will run prioritization discussions with your local team, do tech deep dives and help launch experiments. You will do product discovery to understand internal and external customer problems and write think big documents to propose ambitious solutions and ideas. You will lead them through strategy and execution to deliver value for Amazon Music. You will celebrate wins with the team. Often, you will interact with internal customers on the US west coast or cross-org attend team meetings. You will travel to our LA/SF/Seattle offices to meet partners roughly twice a year.
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience in technical product management, program management or engineering
- Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud technology
- Demonstrated experience driving product roadmap and strategy at scale
- Experience working with scaled GenAI applications
