The Accounting/Subledger Project Manager will be a member of the CMS/Subledger Imitative (aka BOBCAT) core team and will be actively involved in the architectural / IT landscape development and implementation timeline, rollout planning, portfolio migration planning, forecasting, reporting and analytics/data governance and data security concepts, document management, migration of Siebel workflows into CMS, governance structures and harmonization and alignment to BMW Financial Services Canada specific business requirements ( e.g. weekly payments, ancillary product financing, establishment of multilingual functional capabilities, workflow driven user interfaces (agent desktop). The Accounting/Subledger Project Manager is responsible for defining/aligning the overall Contract Management system capabilities and conforming these capabilities to the BMW Group IFRS accounting and reporting requirements.   Functional scope of responsibilities includes:   Accounting focused on BMW Group IFRS accounting and reporting, including SAP IFT integration. Cash & Treasury focused on following all cash movements, mapping of general ledger accounts to operational transactions and developing reports for reconciliations and variance analysis purposes. Taxations focused on ensuring sales tax both federal and provincial tax topics are adequately addressed and mapped. Regulatory and accounting matters impacting BMW FS Retail Lease/Finance transactions and securitization program. Design future processes, user stories and used cases creation during the configuration and implementation phase. Including alignments with business units. Provide timely and agile testing support prior to engaging the business. Ensure solution complies with regulatory and passes internal and external audits. Identify gaps, risks, issues and provide recommendations to management team based on viable proposals. I.e. Adoption to the out of the box solution, product enhancement or BMW FS customization. Implementation of product solution, engaging, aligning, informing, and training business users. Support data migration activities such as investigation, analysis, review and data cleansing. Product Owner This role is responsible for developing and maintaining a vision for the Accounting, Cash & Treasury, Taxation, and Securitization requirements and capabilities for the BOBCAT solution by working with the US markets, product vendor and business leaders and the strategic direction of the organization. Evaluation of running projects and existing legacy systems for comprehensive planning and strategic alignment, long-term accounting planning and implementation concepts. Must anticipate and take into account industry and BMW FS strategic direction to ensure the alignment of the solution accordingly. Additionally, identify and understand future trends, changing customer needs, emerging technology requirements and potential new business areas. This needs to be considered to design a system that is both able to service the current and future requirements. Responsible for leading execution and delivery of continuous software release by understanding and coordinating the epic backlog for the platform and serves as the ‘voice of accounting, financial reporting and risk management’ into the Agile Development Team to deliver a software solution which meets those needs. Collaborates with internal teams namely with the IMO team, the CMS Initiative team, Accounting Initiative team, the business lines and also with external partners like the Product Vendor, Integration Partner and Test-Partner to design, develop and deploy the solution to the markets. Those stakeholders and resources may be geographically distributed. Propagates knowledge of the program and its benefits to the agile team members and supports the agile team to reach their targets. Works day to day with the various internal team and external vendors for knowledge-transfer, clarifying business requirements, removing roadblocks, constantly communicating, and gaining alignment around feature or product strategy. Governance Has full operational governance for the Accounting, Cash, Treasury, Taxation, Securitization and Financial Reporting capabilities/solution product and associates’ processes according to the role definition in the agile methodology. The role must closely align with global finance and regional finance governance functions. In this role the initiative lead also acts as single point of contact for the business lines and in the project for all topics related to Accounting, Tax and Financial Reporting. Leadership and Change Management The Accounting/Subledger Project Manager will provide clear expectations and objectives with their respective colleagues. He/she will provide timely evaluation of results, feedback on concerns and recommendations for improvements. This role will promote change management, ambassador for continued efficiencies and promote best practices for both markets. Planning and Roadmap Responsible for the creation and prioritization of the High Level Requirements in form of Epics (in conjunction with members of the BOBCAT team) and the setup and maintenance of a High Level Plan and recommendation of the implementation roadmap to incrementally deliver new functionality to the customers in an agile manner, while gradually building on the foundation to deliver more sophisticated capabilities through a customer centric approach and innovation. Engages with the engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to define a roadmap that meets business and consumer needs, while meeting critical deadlines and budget constraints. He/she acts on the roadmap and delivers according to plan. Requirement Management, Capabilities Development and Documentation Responsible for the project planning and ensures the quality and maturity of the artifacts (e.g. Epics and User Stories) within the planning process. Also responsible for the readiness and maturity of the user stories for the respective gateways. Accordingly, needs to understand, manage, and communicate prioritization of features, with a mind toward user and business benefits and tradeoffs and needs to identify market opportunities and define product strategy to reflect those. Ensures the delivery of scope, removes barriers for team members and resolves open issues/questions quickly and efficiently and acts as the `voice of the customer’ in this context. Ensures that the design is properly documented i.e. traceability of requirement to design, ensures knowledge transfer, ability to supply external auditors full explanation on how solution functions, ensures that documentation has proper basis to record future changes, and history of past changes (change audit trail).   Qualifications:   Master’s degree / bachelor’s degree in business administration/ management, Finance or Accounting 5+ years of professional experience, preferably in financial services, banking or insurance industry 5+ years of experience in business/IT projects or financial accounting including: Financial accounting, tax, cash payments and/or securitization (ABS) areas of focus Working in teams distributed across multiple locations and countries Deep understanding and ability to design/change complex operational/financial business processes Knowledge of the relevant regulations, laws and compliance topics with an ability to incorporate these aspects into the development of optimal business processes 3+ experience in the operational management of external vendors/contractors/suppliers preferred Fluent business English, German appreciated In-depth understanding of tax, accounting, cash payments and/or financial reporting processes and systems Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals Experience with SAP International Finance Template (IFT) Experience in project, change, rollout, test management and training Some experience and knowledge with using diverse design and project management methodologies and tools Excellent communication, theorical and conflict resolutions skills, also in a multi-cultural context Assertiveness and ability to convince and negotiate with Business partners Agile methodology and working with teams and in agile development environments Initiative planning Banking & Financial Services knowledge (industry trends and developments, organization & controls, business & IT regulations and law, risk management, tax treatments, accounting treatments, etc.) Car industry, trends, competitive landscape Solid knowledge and understanding of IT architectures and system integration paradigms Problem solving and continuous improvement skills   Benefits of working at BMW Group Canada include:   An award winning culture.
