Team / division overview

DWS Compliance Surveillance is an independent, global control function of the second line of defense that focuses on the detection of certain covered risks after an event. The main focus is on fixed interactions in financial markets and rules or codes relating to inappropriate behavior and activities. These include: types of market manipulation, insider trading and collusive behavior, breaches of fidelity and adequacy obligations and potential misuse of conflicts of interest. The team is responsible for designing, implementing and operating an effective control framework to monitor the risks covered. In addition, the team is focused on monitoring the personal business of DWS employees.

Role Details  

As a/anAFC & Compliance Analyst your tasks include:

Cross functional and functional responsibilities (non-exhaustive)

• Conducting day-to-day tasks (Alert and Case Mgmt Lifecycle) according to the underlying policies & procedures, and additionally, contributing to run-the-bank
• Liaising across Compliance, with other L2 control functions and with business representatives
• Timely escalating any issues to the Team Lead where required and having a sense of priority and urgency
• Driving timely resolution of potential issues and / or implementation of measures
• Observing current guidelines / policies in liaison and agreement with owner
• Challenging existing processes / instructions where necessary
• Paying attention to potential trends and patterns in the relevant business environment

Main responsibilities

• Alert Review (Trade Surveillance) & support of case management process
• Daily MI Creation
• Work on AI-use cases within the AFC & Compliance department

We are looking for 

Skills and capabilities

• Business competencies: Business strategy; industry knowledge; communication; innovation; product knowledge and risk management
• Technical competencies: Business analysis; client services; operational management; quality management
• Excellent team player with great attitude and work ethics
• Very good English skills (oral and written)
• German language skills (B2/C1)
• Proficient with using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• In-depth and methodological working approach
• Working independently
• Strong in delivering several different assignments and / or projects within given deadlines in parallel
• Ensuring accurate and efficient performance of tasks
• Problem analysis and recommending adequate tactical resolution
• Interested in the markets, current events, and financial news
• Digital Skills and Computer Science, experiences in Databases, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics and Machine Learning

Education and Experience

• Bachelor degree in Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Law or any other comparable area; or
• At least several years of working experience in Compliance, Legal, Audit, Risk Management, Portfolio Management or Trading; and
• Experiences and profound knowledge in the area of Trade Surveillance
• Specific knowledge in the field of financial markets, products and the underlying regulation
• Proficiency in Database Management, Artifical Intelligence, Mathematical Modelling 

Posting period: 10.07.2025 until 24.07.2025

This role is temporary, with an end date of 12/2026.
