Master student automotive, mechanical or similar engineering/scientific fields (f/m/x)
Digital methodology development for automotive component packaging
What to expect:
The content of this master thesis focuses on the digitalization of the vehicle design phase. Vehicles are a system of systems and are becoming increasingly complex due to the exponential technological growth, we are witnessing nowadays. Moreover, a variety of disciplines, such as aerodynamics, energy management, etc., are involved in the vehicle development, which makes it a multidisciplinary process. In order to make this development process more efficient and to support vehicle developers in better understanding the interactions between vehicle subsystems, we are aiming on digitizing and automating the vehicle development process. In this context, digital and AI-driven workflows (tool chains) play a decisive role. Within this framework, you can make your contribution by:
  • digitizing the multidisciplinary vehicle design process by integrating software modules into an existing tool library
  • using this tool library to automate the creation of vehicle layouts (arrangement of vehicle components)
