Master Thesis Toxicology

In our efforts to refine toxicological experimentation, we are working on developing methods to use data from already performed studies to reduce or replace concurrent control groups by ‘Virtual Control Groups’ in future studies. During this 6-month Master project

• You will collect and prepare historical data for in vivo studies.

• Moreover, you will dive deep into the design of studies and interact with the laboratories to understand characteristics of the data.

• You will analyze the relevant data to identify the factors with the most influence on the evaluated parameters.

• Last but not least, you will evaluate the impact of virtual control groups on the interpretation of study data.

• Bachelor´s degree in Toxicology, Biology or related areas
• understanding of typical study designs in in vivo toxicology (e.g., OECD guidelines).
• some experience in handling larger datasets and a desire to learn further (e.g., Python, R).
• experience with statistics will be an additional advantage
• strong communication skills in English to explain scientific results to an interdisciplinary team
