Summary:
The Maintenance Specialist - Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning, safety, and reliability of equipment, facilities, and systems within the organization. This role involves performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, diagnosing technical problems, and implementing solutions to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on machinery, equipment, and building systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other technical issues to identify and resolve faults efficiently.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately in maintenance logs or computerized systems.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other team members to plan and prioritize maintenance tasks.
- Order and manage spare parts and supplies inventory to ensure timely availability.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies while performing all maintenance tasks.
- Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment or systems as needed.
- Propose and implement improvements to maintenance processes and equipment reliability.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical/trade school certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in maintenance, repair, or a related technical field.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or HVAC systems.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting and documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings or weekends, as required.

Physical Demands:
- The Maintenance Specialist - Technician works in an industrial setting. The role may require standing, bending, lifting, and exposure to varying temperatures or noisy environments. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required at all times.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various environments.
