In our Audit & Assurance business unit, we offer a broad range of services which includes a portfolio of data science methodologies and data engineering technologies. What you will do

As a Data Engineer you will work with a great team of Data Scientists who are motivated to improve the quality and accuracy of information and enabling businesses to make more responsible business decisions. You will also work with leaders across the organization and our clients to help support business decisions across multiple industries and build tools to achieve the same. You will be responsible for:

• ETL / Post processing of financial data from different source systems
• Scalable data processing with Azure Storage, and implement role-based data authorization
• Providing infrastructure for the data scientists
• You will advise and support the development of data pipelines and data transformations. You design and implement data flows and databases in the Azure Cloud.
• You model the necessary data structures in the Azure SQL DB according to proven data modelling principles.
• Existing ETL and reporting solutions are monitored, maintained, and expanded by you over their entire life cycle.
• You take on the business and technical challenges and requirements of customers and implement them in development, create associated test cases and always coordinate closely with the customer.

 

Your Background

• B.Sc./M.Sc. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Wirtschaftsinformatik or a comparable field.
• You have expertise in using Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory and Azure Functions (AZ-104 certification is a big plus)
• Experience of working with Azure Cloud infrastructure and associated services
• You have an understanding of the processing and modelling of large, complex data sets for analytical use cases with Azure Data Factory
• Experience in data modelling and data engineering for data- and compute-intensive applications including cloud provider technology (Azure) is a big plus
• You have experience in Python or other coding language and ETL tools.
• Experience with reporting tools such as PowerBI, Qlik or Tableau or data mining tools such as Knime or Alteryx or even relevant certifications are a plus.
• Overall relevant experience of about 5 years in the above-mentioned technical areas would be ideal
• You communicate effectively and independently, work independently and purposefully to deliver high-quality results on time and possess good communication and stakeholder management skills both in English and preferably also in German
• You bring a basic understanding of financial data and ERP systems and a basic understanding of accounting processes
• You will be working with a team of highly skilled and supportive data scientists who work with an agile approach in their everyday tasks. Team language is English. This position is a “work from anywhere in Germany” position which, on the other hand, requires a high degree of self-organization and excellent communication skills.
