Job Summary:
The Service Manager is a critical role within our hydropower business.
Voith Hydro has initiated the establishment of new service hubs as well as the development of existing ones at strategic locations worldwide, with Australia being a newly created Service hub.
The Service Manager is responsible for developing relationships with Customers at plant level, identifying OPEX, CAPEX, Spares, Automation, and Digital opportunities to grow the Voith Service Business in Australia and New Zealand. They prepare quotes and manage the execution of assigned projects in in conjunction with the HyService team.
Main Target:
Work with key local stakeholders to provide a best-in-class service experience to the Voith customer base.
Key Responsibilities:
OTO: Proposals, Sales, and Business Development
Main Responsibilities:
- Act as a Business Development advocate for all HyService Opportunities (OPEX, CAPEX, AUTOMATION/DIGITAL, SPARES).
- Support the strategy and growth of the service region.
- Conduct frequent customer visits to generate growth and identify leads.
- Strengthen customer relationships and develop new customers.
- Drive the sales and marketing of new services and products.
- Support the regional service hub team.
- Manage opportunities in SalesForce
Additional Responsibilities:
- Develop winning OPEX proposals working with the HyService Sales Manager
- Support the HyService Sales Manager develop proposals as required.
- Be the face of all HyService offerings (CAPEX, OPEX, SPARES, and AUTOMATION/DIGITAL) for customers.
- Liaise with and utilise the Voith internal network to successfully offer and execute projects.
- Manage the handed over warranty work.
OTC: Project Execution
Main Responsibilities:
- Be the face of HyService projects in the region for the customer.
- Manage OPEX and SPARES projects in their region.
- Delivery of projects to schedule, budget, quality, and EHS requirements.
- Manage an internal network of Technical Experts, Engineers and other key functions located in the back office and the rest of the Voith Hydro, on site resources, contractors, suppliers to successfully offer and execute service projects (with the support of the Head of Service VH ANZ).
- Take responsibility for overall direct employee management during the execution of projects.
- Support annual sales planning.
- Invoicing and collection of payment.
Personal Profile:
The Service Manager is a self-motivated, reliable and dynamic individual with an entrepreneurial spirit, capable of leveraging their relationship to deliver high value products and services to our customers.
With 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role, he/she brings sales experience and a proven leadership track record, showcasing their service mindset.
He/she holds a university diploma in Engineering or possesses equivalent industry experience, providing a solid technical foundation.
The candidate must possess:
- a deep technical knowledge of Hydro turbines, generators, and balance of plant equipment
- strong analytical, problem-solving, and issue resolution skills
- proficiency in project management software and tools
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- exceptional organizational skills
- the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- leadership and decision-making capabilities
- a keen eye for accuracy and attention to detail
- highly developed report writing and technical capabilities
- the ability to consistently prioritize and efficiently complete multiple tasks within given deadlines, even with minimal supervision, is critical.
He/she must take full accountability of their work, and able to work well with team members both in person and remote.
The candidate must able be fully computer literate in MS Office Suite, and experience with SalesForce and SAP is an asset.
The Service Manager must be open to traveling up to 40% of the time, visiting various customer and project sites to ensure the delivery of exceptional service.
