Job Summary:
The Service Project Manager is a critical role within our hydropower business.
Voith Hydro has initiated the establishment of new service hubs as well as the development of existing ones at strategic locations worldwide, with Australia being a newly created Service hub.
This role is responsible for providing overall project leadership on assigned projects in Australia and New Zealand through the complete project life cycle (from proposal phase to complete execution), to supply parts and services for the complete hydroelectric power plants equipment supplied by Voith, including but not limited to turbine, generator, balance of the plant electrical & mechanical and automation/digital.
Main Target:
Facilitating the decision making process throughout the project, interpretation of the contract documents, face between the company and customer, and successfully completing the project profitability goals and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Service Project Manager is responsible for the management of assigned projects including all aspects of scheduling, budget, quality, EHS, reporting, risk management, communication and reporting and to ensure that all works are executed in accordance with the contract requirements.
- Support the Service Manager(s) and HyService Sales Manager prepare Opex and Capex proposals (cost, schedule, scope, quality, etc.) to provide accurate and concise offers for services & parts, in line with contract requirements and customer specifications.
- Manage all project team members, site resources, contractors, suppliers, etc.
- Oversee the Sales Order number creation, as well as the budget uploaded into the WBS when the OTO proposals turn into OTC orders.
- Execute SAP transactions applicable to projects for services & parts.
- Maintain good working relations with customers (internal and external), internal suppliers, and vendors to receive the cooperation necessary to complete the component supply, and to provide technical assistance required to support customer schedules.
- Manage overall projects for services & parts, lead the execution crew at site, and create contingency plans, as well as continuous efforts to develop change orders that bring value to customers and profitability to Voith.
- Make logical decisions under extreme pressure to resolve customers’ problems.
- Take accountability on the success of the proposals and projects for services and parts, including, but not limited to commercial, technical, price level and customer satisfaction.
- Create and manage NCRs and conduct RCAs as needed.
- Liaise with the Voith internal network to successfully execute projects.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support the Service Managers and Business Development activities being deployed in the region.
- During the business development phase, support the ANZ team:
- Identify and Onboard Workshops, Service providers, and suppliers in Australia and New Zealand, with the support of the Sourcing team.
- Identify tooling and equipment requirements for the ANZ HyService hub, prioritizing the needs as the business grows. Lead the procurement and set up of tool containers/ site boxes.
- Build relationships with Customers
- Support local team members and be willing to work outside specific areas of responsibility.
- Support the development of local procedures, processes, and systems.
Personal Profile:
The Service Project Manager is a self-motivated, reliable and dynamic individual with an entrepreneurial spirit, capable of leveraging their relationship to deliver high value products and services to our customers.
They hold a qualification in Project Management, and preferably a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or possesses equivalent industry experience with corresponding relevant work history.
He/she must also possess a minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in the hydro power sector or a supporting industry.
The candidate must possess:

The Service Project Manager must be open to travelling throughout Australia and New Zealand to visit customer / project sites and follow up with suppliers, with the ability to work in industrial environments.
