Working Student Position in the Environment & Sustainability Unit Bioscience team within the Business Area Wind

Do you want to be part of Vattenfall's transition to a more sustainable energy system and contribute to the development, construction, and operation of our renewable energies (Onshore & Offshore Wind; Solar and Battery Storage Projects) in the Business Area Wind?

A dedicated contact person will provide you with the necessary support and regular feedback.

About the Bioscience team - We're a team of seven experts in terrestrial and marine ecology and environmental science. With a blend of academic knowledge and practical research experience, our goal is to integrate science into Vattenfall practices, mitigating the impact of projects on biodiversity and promoting proactive conservation actions which help us towards Net Positive Impact on biodiversity.

Your Main Tasks

  • Assist the bioscience team with daily tasks and projects.
  • Conduct desktop research and gather data on restoration or biodiversity enhancement measures in Wind, Solar, and Battery projects.
  • Aid in data analysis and report preparation.
  • Collaborate with team members on ongoing biodiversity projects.
  • Support in development of communication material
  • Support administrative tasks like filing, document organization, and meeting scheduling.

Qualifications

  • Academic background or interest in Environmental Science and/or Communication.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Creativity and curiosity.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Additional information

  • Start: 3rd June
  • Duration: Three months probationary period with the aim of extension
  • Be enrolled for at least another year
  • Working hours: 15-20 hours per week during the lecture period with the possibility of increase during the lecture-free period
  • Location: Hamburg
